Basement Flooring
The ThermalDry Basement
Floor Matting System is a specially engineered
polypropylene, 17" square tile, which is installed
"tongue & groove" on the floor. Unlike systems that use
wood, the ThermalDry plastic membrane is totally water
and vapor proof. The unique grid design on the bottom of
the tile creates an air space that insulates the floor,
and does not cause water vapor to condense. The
installation takes away only 3/8" of precious ceiling
height in the basement, instead of 4" for other methods
of dealing with the problem.
Thermaldry
flooring can turn your damp, hard, concrete basement floor into a
comfortable, dry, warm, floor. When you walk into a room the first
thing you notice is the floor and a basement is no different. The
Thermaldry flooring system not only channels water out of your basement,
but increases energy savings. No matter how much padding you put
under a carpet if it has been laid over a cold, hard, cement floor, it
will never be as comfortable as carpet laid over a subfloor system that
resists mold. Thermaldry raises your carpeting over the concrete
basement floor allowing it to breath and channel water should it ever
need to. If your basement ever does receive water the thermal dry
flooring system snaps together so you can easily remove on the tiles
that received the water damage, allow them to dry, then replace them.
The air space created by the ThermalDry system offers an
insulating quality, because your carpeting is not in
contact with the cold concrete. The finished floor is
warmer, so summertime condensation forming on cold floor
surfaces is greatly reduced or eliminated.
